Boma (Agenzia Fides) - The Catholic Church celebrated 135 years of evangelization in the Independent State of Congo, now the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the town of Boma in the Central Province of Congo.
On Sunday, August 9, a Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Boma was celebrated for the occasion, attended by thousands of faithful.
During the celebration some moments of the first evangelization that date back to the Catholic mission in 1880 were mentioned. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 10/08/2015)
