ASIA/TAIWAN - Meeting of Headmasters of Catholic schools at Fu Ren Catholic University

Taipei (Fides Service) - The Headmasters of Catholic Schools in Taiwan recently attended a meeting at Fu Ren Catholic University in Taipei. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the challenges of education today in view of major changes in society and in the field of instruction and also to promote collaboration among the various Catholic institutions on the Island. Archbishop Cheng of Taipei, president of the commission of the Chinese Regional Bishops’ Conferece for education and culture, gave the opening conference underlining that Catholic education gives primary importance to the person, putting the individual at the centre of all instruction.
