Monday, 20 July 2015

Tuxtla Gutierrez (Agenzia Fides) - Boys and girls of Palenque, Chiapas, of the infant Niños Cantan orchestra, have formed an orchestra to reproduce sounds with pre-Hispanic Mayan musical instruments. The project started in the children's workshop Instrumentos Musicales Prehispánicos of the Museum of Palenque, to promote knowledge and interest in music and the Maya tradition. The same children play flutes, maracas, ocarinas, instruments that they have built with natural elements like bamboo, mud, seeds, pumpkin. They are ancient instruments that reproduce the natural sounds of birds, insects, shells, turtles and all the natural environment that one can recreate. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 20/07/2015)
