Wednesday, 8 July 2015

Freetown (Agenzia Fides) - "There are cases of Ebola infection in Freetown, Kambia and Port Loko but people are making efforts to protect themselves", says to Fides His Exc. Mgr. Edward Tamba Charles, Archbishop of Freetown, commenting the news on the resurgence of the virus in the African country (see Fides 04/07/2015). The Archbishop, however, urges not to esagerate, and adds that one cannot forget "the resilience of the virus, which has led to its emergence in Liberia, a country declared by WHO to be free of Ebola". Finally Mgr. Tamba Charles confirms that "some people here who behave recklessly and leave quarantined areas but the majority of us are trying to put the Ebola scourge behind us".
