Monday, 6 July 2015

Santo Domingo en Ecuador (Agenzia Fides) - "Attending means to be blessed and to participate in the history of mercy that the world lives with Pope Francis" says Martha Lopez, a member of the Juan XXIII movement, who will attend the Mass that Pope Francis will celebrate on Tuesday 7 July in Quito, with other ten thousand pilgrims from the Diocese of Santo Domingo en Ecuador.
These groups will travel about 180 km to reach Quito.
Fides sources in Ecuador report that the Bishops' Conference has prepared and distributed a backpack with a t-shirt, a scarf, a bracelet, a rosary, small booklets with prayers and an edition of the four Gospels to the pilgrims. According to His Exc. Mgr. Bertram Wick, Bishop of Santo Domingo en Ecuador, the group of faithful who will leave for Quito have to read the "message on the family" suggested by the diocese, which will surely be among the themes that Pope Francis will talk about.
"We believe that the family faces many situations and problems, such as migration and other factors", said the Bishop.
The Pope’s visit will be broadcast live on TV by 200 television networks around the world. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 06/07/2015)
