Buenos Aires (Fides Service) - With a brief statement “Solidarity with Asia”, Caritas Argentina expressed its solidarity with the countries affected by the tragedy in south east Asia: “After the terrible catastrophe which left thousands dead and hundreds of towns and villages under water, we join the work of Caritas offices everywhere and encourage everyone to contribute as much as they can”, the text reads. The statement calls on individuals, associations, businesses to give money to help the thousands of stricken people all over the region. Offerings may be sent to Banco de la Nacion Argentina, sucursal Plaza de Mayo account number 38632/92; CUIT 30-51731290-4, CBU 01105995-20000038632922.
The statement closes with a prayer that God may give strength to those who are suffering in this painful situation and it entrusts to the divine providence of God the Father all the necessary help and aid to protect those who have lost everything.
