Dakar (Agenzia Fides) - The radio station on the web launched by the Catholic Church of Senegal called "Radio Mercy" proposes moments of prayer, sermons, testimonies, but also religious music and reflection on everything related to Christian life. The issuer is accessible from the Catholic Senegalese information site www.seneglise.sn.
Created by the Office for Information and Communication of the archdiocese of Dakar, with the technical support of a group of young Catholic engineers in the Country, "Radio Mercy was born in the context of the new evangelization, in which the Christian community of Senegal has a great need to communicate".
"The issuer has as its mission the promotion of Gospel values and the commitment of Christian communities. In the future, it will provide for the transmission of programs related also to social issues such as education, agriculture, economy and sustainable development".
The Catholic Church of Senegal has already, since October 2014, a local radio station, "Radio Hope", co-financed by the archdiocese of Dakar and the association of entrepreneurs and Catholic company executives. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 19/05/2015)
