AMERICA/BOLIVIA - More than 6 million to vote: the Bishops call for free and fair elections

Cochabamba (Agenzia Fides) - The Bishops of Bolivia invite the national community to exercise the civil right to vote in good conscience, in freedom and with attention to the common good of citizens. The President of the Bolivian Episcopal Conference (CEB), His Exc. Mgr. Oscar Aparicio, emphasized these aspects in view of the elections on Sunday, March 29 and asked the candidates "to try and do their best".
His Exc. Mgr. Jesús Juarez, Archbishop of Sucre, asked voters to participate in the elections calmly and without fanaticism.
The Episcopal Conference has announced that religious activities planned for Palm Sunday will be held regularly.
The party of the current government, "Movimiento al Socialismo" (MAS) has been very active in recent days, which brought President Evo Morales in most departments of the country to support their candidates.
