Bogota (Agenzia Fides) - Children in Central America find themselves living in one of the most dangerous places . Children under 18 years of age are more likely to die murdered more than any other cause. According to the recent report released by Save the Children, those who tried to escape in the last year doubled and many of them are still trying to escape. Most are adolescent boys between the ages of 15 and 17 who travel alone, but there are also many young mothers with children of different ages, as well as unaccompanied children that have been separated from their parents. During the year that has just ended, more than 18 000 children were deported from Mexico and the United States who now find themselves living in the same conditions of poverty and violence that they suffered in Central America. Many children have reported cases of sexual abuse and violence, as well as being deprived of food. The NGO has denounced the fact that a large number of migrant children and their families are not able to cross the border with the United States, they are arrested and sent back to Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, the most common Countries of origin.
