Nairobi (Agenzia Fides) - The Bishops of Kenya reiterate their accusations on the campaign of vaccination against tetanus which, they say, hides a program of population control (see Fides 17/10/2014); they also denounce the lack of security in different parts of the Country. In a statement published on 6 November at the end of their Plenary Assembly, sent to Agenzia Fides, they write: "How many more Kenyans, including security agents, must lose their lives before proper order is restored? We want to state this categorically: the time has come to do less talk and carry out more action. "The Bishops refer to the recent incidents of violence in the region of Lake Turkana (see Fides 06/11/2014) and those that occurred this summer in the County of Lamu (see Fides 24/06/2014).
"One of the leading causes of insecurity is unequal development" the statement said. "It is deplorable that, despite 50 years of independence, some areas of the Country have not seen a significant development, no roads, schools and other essential social services".
The Episcopal Conference of Kenya also reaffirms that, despite being in favor of ordinary vaccination campaigns (often conducted with the assistance of Catholic health care facilities), there remains a strong concern for the secrecy with which the campaign against tetanus is carried out. The Church has managed to get several doses of the vaccine, which were analyzed by four different laboratories in Kenya and abroad. "We want to announce that all of the tests show that the vaccine used in Kenya in March and October 2014 is actually contaminated with Beta-HCG hormone", the Bishops said. This substance "causes infertility and multiple miscarriages in women", recalls the document, which concludes by denouncing the intimidation towards doctors who confirmed the information about the vaccine, and ask Kenyans to avoid the tetanus campaign because "we are convinced that it is a masked program of population control".
