Benghazi (Agenzia Fides) - "Bombings continue, although with less intensity compared to yesterday" says His Exc. Mgr. Sylvester Carmel Magro, Apostolic Vicar of Benghazi to Fides Agency, where the forces of General Khalifa Haftar have launched an offensive to wrest control of the city from Islamist groups (see Fides 10/15/2014).
"We know little of what is happening because we are imprisoned in the house and the area of the fighting is relatively far away from where we are", says Mgr. Magro. "We live as hermits locked in the house or in hospitals. We hear the roar of the bombing but we do not know exactly where they are concentrated", says the Apostolic Vicar who concludes renewing the call to pray for Libya. (L.M.)
