AFRICA/BENIN – Opening of the meeting of African Bishops on the family in preparation for the Synod

Cotonou (Agenzia Fides) - Meeting of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM/SECAM) to consolidate African issues and help prepare African bishops for the upcoming Synod which will be held in the Vatican in October began yesterday, July 14 in Cotonou (Benin). The meeting, attended by 47 delegates from 18 African countries, was opened by His Exc. Mgr. Gabriel Mbilingi, Archbishop of Lubango (Angola) and President of SECAM.
The Seminar will be attended by Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Archbishop of Abuja (Nigeria); His Exc. Mgr. Louis Mbuyu Portella, Bishop of Kinkala (Congo Brazzaville), Vice President of SECAM and President of the Commission for the Evangelization of SECAM. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 15/07/2014)
