AFRICA/BURKINA FASO - Appointment of the Rector of the "Saints Peter and Paul" interdiocesan philosophical Seminary in Ouagadougou

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On May 10, 2013, Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Marie -Emmanuel Kone of the diocesan clergy of Dédougou as Rector of the "Saints Peter and Paul" interdiocesan philosophical Seminary in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso).
The new Rector was born on December 8, 1968 in Dédougou. After primary school he attended the minor Seminary in Tionkuy, the Seminary of Naxos, the St. Jean -Baptiste Major Seminary (Ouagadougou) and the St. Pierre Claver de Koumi Major Seminary (Bobo- Dioulasso). He was ordained a priest on July 20, 1996 in Dédougou. After his ordination, he carried out his service in the minor Seminary in Tionkuy and at the Seminary of Naxos, and after having been a diocesan chancellor, he studied canon law in Rome from 2002 to 2007, and obtained a doctorate. On returning home, he carried out his service (2007-2008) at the major Seminary in Koumi, and since 2008 at the St. Jean -Baptiste major Seminary. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 02/05/2014)
