AFRICA/UGANDA - Resignation of the Archbishop of Tororo and appointment of Successor

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On January 2, 2014, the Holy Father accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Archdiocese of Tororo (Uganda), by His Exc. Mgr. Denis Kiwanuka Lote, in accordance with canon 401 § 1 of the Code of Canon Law. The Holy Father appointed His Exc. Mgr. Emmanuel Obbo, of the Congregation of the Apostles of Jesus, as Archbishop of Tororo (Uganda). The same Prelate was appointed Apostolic Administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the Diocese of Soroti. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 03/01/2014)
