AFRICA/SUDAN - Armed militiamen attack farmers and take turns raping women farmers in North Darfur

Saraf Omra (Agenzia Fides) - Groups of armed men on horseback or on camels attacked the farmers of Saraf Omra, North Darfur, sowing terror and violence. Unfortunately a group of women farmers were captured and raped in turn by the kidnappers. According to information from Radio Dabanga, the farmers were firstly beaten and flogged and then the militiamen stole their money and agricultural equipment.
