Santiago de los Caballeros (Agenzia Fides) - According to a recent report, released by the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) of the Dominican Republic, about 50 children, almost two a day, die every month in the pediatric hospital "Dr. Arturo Grullon" in Santiago. The health authorities of the center attribute the cause of a high number of deaths to the critical condition of health in which patients arrive, some of whom die in the emergency room. In addition, the report highlights the emergence of the 14 provinces of Cibao, in the north of the country, which concerns many Haitians, who consume more than 30% of their annual budget. The data emerged during several meetings with the staff of the First Level Assistant Centers of the areas of Cienfuegos, Los Llanos del Ingenio and La Union which saw the participation of MAP technicians, nurses and doctors from the Ministry of Health hospital "President Estrella Ureña" and the "Instituto Dominicano de Seguros Sociales (IDSS)".
