Rome (Fides Service) - Caring for others is a typical element of womanhood through which women render family, professional and social life more worthy of the person. In view of this Paideia Co-operative (Opus Dei), organises a course of lessons and experience of voluntary work to offer a constructive contribution to the development of the female personality and enhance women’s special characteristic: the ability to understand and meet the needs of others. This year it is holding the 4th consecutive course in three different venues in Milan starting on November 8.
Theoretical lessons on anthropology help develop the qualities necessary for good relations with others especially those in difficult conditions. Visits to homes and centres offer students an opportunity to put theory into practice. The course offers also practical lessons.
“I heard about the course in voluntary work from a friend with whom I go to dancing classes and who had been to two lessons” said Jessica, a member of Opus Dei who took the course last year. “She made it sound interesting that I decided to sign up for the course to learn how to help others. I am so glad that I did. I learned a lot: how to spend time for others, for the less fortunate to make them feel less lonely. I have learned much and also made friends”.
