ASIA/CHINA - The Diocese of Zheng Ding welcomes three new workers of the vineyard of the Lord

Wednesday, 28 August 2013

Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) - More than 1,600 faithful from different dioceses in mainland China on August 22, 2013 attended the priestly ordination of three new priests of the Diocese of Zheng Ding (today Shi Jia Zhuang), the Feast of Mary the Virgin Queen. They are the result of ten years of vocational animation. Mgr. Joseph Li Lian Gui, bishop of the diocese of Xian Xian (today Cang Zhou) presided over the solemn ordination of three new workers of the vineyard of the Lord. He was particularly excited about the fact that the three newly ordained priests studied and prepared themselves in the same seminar of He Bei, where he studied years ago. He urged all the faithful to pray and support vocations, as they have always done. He recalled that years ago the faithful gave their food to support seminarians economically and spiritually.
The diocese Shi Jia Zhuang – he said – is a fertile land of vocations, that is supported with prayer and economic aid. And he concluded: "Today we enjoy and share this happiness". To the three ordained priests he told this beautiful story of faith: "bring Christ to all, do not limit your ministry to your parish or community alone, but go and evangelize everyone".
