Friday, 9 August 2013

Rome (Agenzia Fides) - ''There is no news on the group that kidnapped Fr. Dall’Oglio. We are still groping in the dark''. This is how Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino expressed herself, on the morning of August 9, with regards to the kidnapping of Fr. Paolo Dall'Oglio, the Jesuit Roman who disappeared between 28 and 29 July in the Syrian city of Raqqa, in the hands of anti-Assad opposition forces.
On Thursday, August 8, as reported by Italian agencies, Ambassador Giampiero Massolo, current director of Dis (Department of information security, a coordinating body of the Italian secret services) confirmed that attempts to find "direct contact" with the Dall’Oglio’s kidnappers on behalf of the Italian intelligence have so far had no effect.
