VATICAN - Pope's appeal for the people of Indonesia affected by the flood
Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - At the end of today's general audience, the Holy Father Benedict XVI made the following appeal to the people of Indonesia affected by the flood: "I am following with concern the news coming from Indonesia, where a major flood has devastated the capital Jakarta, causing extensive damage and thousands displaced. I wish to express my closeness to the people affected by this natural disaster, assuring you of my prayers and encouraging solidarity so that no one lacks the necessary relief."
