Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - "Faith grows in Love," is the theme of the 2013 Lenten Campaign in the diocese of Hong Kong. According to information collected by Fides Agency, the Preparatory Commission has indicated a specific theme for each week of Lent: "Seek Justification through Faith", "Have Trust in God’s Promise," "Repent and Turn to Goodness"; "Care to Build Society," " Pursue a Virtuous Life. "As every year, the Commission will hold a press conference for the presentation of the Campaign, aimed at Catholic school teachers, volunteers, pastoral workers. In addition, the Commission will provide the Lenten material (posters, envelopes for the collection of offerings ...) for animation in parishes, schools, social service centers.
According to reports from the Kung Kao Po, the weekly newsletter of the Diocese of Hong Kong, the Commission for the Lenten Campaign of the Catholic Church has published an account of the donations collected last year, when the theme was "Service: sign of Charity" : A total of HK $ 6,560,000, 2% more compared to the previous year. These offerings were distributed to 17 parishes, 34 Catholic schools, 6 charity associations, Student Association to spread the spirit of Lent. In addition, a part of the offerings was allocated to local emergencies and emergencies abroad, and for travel and accommodation of the priests of the continent who go to study in Hong Kong.
