VATICAN - The Pope's Angelus: "Let there be an end to all conflicts and violence, let there be found the courage to dialogue"

Monday, 21 January 2013

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - "To the prayer for Christian unity I would like to add once again that for peace because, unfortunately there are various conflicts under way around the world and the slaughter of innocent civilians should cease, let there be an end to all conflicts and violence, let there be found the courage to conduct dialogue and to negotiate. For both of these intentions, we invoke the intercession of Mary Most Holy, Mediatrix of Grace. " This is Holy Father Benedict XVI’s appeal addressed before the Angelus on Sunday, January 20. Previously, the Pope had commented on the Gospel of the day, the miracle of the water transformed into wine at the wedding in Cana, "where Jesus performed the miracle of changing water into wine, with this sign He reveals his glory in public," and the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity:" one of the most serious sins that disfigure the face of the Church is that against its visible unity, especially the historical divisions that have separated Christians and that have not yet been resolved" (SL) (Agenzia Fides 21/01/2013)
