Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on August 3, 2012 appointed Rev. D. Francis Xavier An-Jen Yang, of the diocesan clergy of Hsinchu as Rector of the inter-diocesan Theological Seminary of Taiwan in the Archdiocese of Taipei.
The new Rector was born in Taiwan on September 9, 1968 and was ordained a priest on May 14, 2000. He has a master's degree in theology at the Fu-Jen University in Taiwan, a master's degree in management at the St. Thomas University in the Philippines and a PhD in Science Education with a specilization in religion at La Salle University in the Philippines. In recent years, as well as serving in parishes and in an orphanage, he was also a director of several church organizations of his diocese (Hsinchu). (SL) (Agenzia Fides 21/12/2012)
