Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on June 9, 2012 appointed Rev. Fr. Azif John of the clergy of the same archdiocese as Rector of the inter-diocesan Philosophical Seminary "St. Francis Xavier " in the Archdiocese of Islamabad-Rawalpindi (Pakistan),.
The new Rector was born on March 13, 1975 and was ordained a priest on 12 August 2001. After attending St. Mary's Minor Seminary in Lahore (1992), he studied philosophy (1998) at the "St. Francis Xavier Seminary "in Lahore and theology (2001) at the " St. John Mary Vianney Seminary ", always in Lahore. He then studied canon Law at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome (2010).
