ASIA/HONG KONG - Catholic principles and Christian values are essential in the management of Catholic schools

Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - Follow firmly Catholic principles and Christian values in school management: is the exhortation that comes from the 36th Annual Meeting of the Catholic Religious Schools Council addressed to the principals of Catholic schools, recently held on the theme "Perspectives of Education in Hong Kong". According to reports from Kung Kao Po (weekly newsletter of the Diocese of Hong Kong), more than 120 among principals, school administrators, higher religious institutions engaged in education, in addition to the Bishop's Delegate for Catholic Education Affairs and the Head of education of Caritas, took part in the Meeting. The bishop’s Delegate, Sister Huang, stressed the sense of responsibility and the spirit of service needed to faithfully follow Catholic principles, citing Jesus’ words: "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, and will not be taken from her "(Lk 10, 41-42). In addition, she stressed the importance of physical and spiritual education - they are at the service of evangelization. During the meeting a new Board of Directors was also elected. The Catholic Religious Schools Council is under the guidance of the Bishop's Delegate for Catholic Education Affairs, of the Catholic Education Commission, of the Commission for the Development of Catholic Education.
