ASIA/TAIWAN - Annual meeting of the priests of Taiwan, "so that all may be one"

Hsin Chu (Agenzia Fides) - "So that they may all be one" (Jn 17: 21) was the main theme of the annual meeting of the priests of Taiwan, held from October 29 to 31 in the diocese of Hsin Chu, in collaboration with the Regional Major Seminary of Taiwan. According to information sent to Fides Agency, the priests from seven dioceses of the island lived together moments of intense spirituality, through the pilgrimage and spiritual direction. They also shared the path of their vocation, challenges, difficulties, pastoral care, community life, to have a "healthy faith and a healthy inner life." During the pilgrimage they admired the wonders of the Lord's creation. After three days of community sharing and exchange focused on unity, the priests said they felt "stronger", "a strong spritual renewal" that promotes "our pastoral work and evangelization."
According to the statistics of the Regional Episcopal Conference of Taiwan in 2010, the Church of Taiwan has 239,565 faithful, 8 Bishops and 8 emeritus Bishops, 257 diocesan priests, 407 religious priests (301 Chinese and 363 foreign), 80 religious brothers who are not priests (32 Chinese and 48 foreign), two major Seminaries with 27 seminarians.
