Abuja (Agenzia Fides) - The indictment of a corporal of the police in Zamfara State (Northern Nigeria) for theft of weapons has shed light on a series of attacks in some villages in the area, previously attributed to Islamic extremists Boko Haram. The corporal is accused of stealing 15 assault rifles AK-47 (Kalashnikov) as well as a certain amount of ammunition from the armory of the police state in Zamfara. According to the newspaper "Nigerian Tribune", the weapons were used in the assault on the village of Dogon Dawa, in the State of Kaduna (which took place in October, killing 20 people, including the head of the village) and last week in the village of Dansadau in the State of Zamfara. The attacks, which have not been claimed yet (while Boko Haram claim their actions), were carried out by gangs committed to rustling animals, so much so that it was a cattle rustler to put the police on the right track, recovering some of the weapons stolen from the unfaithful police from the black market.
