Kao Hsiung (Agenzia Fides) – With the appointment and the missionary mandate assigned to 8 couples of lay faithful of the Diocesan Commission for the Evangelization of the Family, the Diocese of Kao Hsiung in Taiwan wishes to reinforce the evangelization of the family for the sanctification of its members in the Year of Faith. According to the Catholic Weekly, the weekly magazine of the Diocese of Tai Pei, Mgr. Huang, vicar of the diocese, with the approval of His Exc. Mgr. Peter Liu, Archbishop of the Diocese of Kao Hsiung, presided at a solemn Mass at the beginning of the missionary month of October, for the appointment and delivery of the missionary mandate to these couples. "Your main task - said Msgr. Huang - is to help other brothers and sisters in the faith to live a good life of faith, marriage and family life, as well as promoting the matrimonial spirituality to sanctify their marriage and their family." All this pastoral commitment finds an appropriate frame in the Year of Faith that the Church is experiencing. In specific terms, eight couples will have to: collaborate in the animation of pre-marriage and marriage courses of the diocese for young people; accompany the growth of personality and faith of young people; organize in the parish talks for young people who are about to get married; meet couples in difficulty to help them overcome the crisis and build a sanctified family; create a network of evangelization of families in the parishes of the diocese.
