Friday, 19 October 2012

Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) - "To evangelize all peoples so that they become disciples" is the title of Fr. Felice Chech’s letter, MI, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Taiwan, addressed to all the faithful, in view of World Mission Day of the Year of Faith, which will be celebrated on October 21. In the text published by the Catholic Weekly, weekly of the Archdiocese of Tai Pei, Fr. Chech emphasizes and explains the words of the Pope's Message: "The celebration of World Mission Day has this year a very special meaning" ... "The Year of Faith is an opportunity to rekindle the flame. We must not forget that the Apostles left everything to follow the Lord because of faith; went to every corner of the earth to follow the recommendation of evangelizing all creatures. In the celebration of World Mission Day of the Year of Faith, each of us, in this great mosaic of the Church must feel this missionary mandate of the Lord bringing the name of Christ in all the world. God wants everyone to know Him and share His love."
On the occasion of the missionary month, the PMS in Taiwan organized a prayer vigil for the Evangelization in the five continents, which took place on October 3 at the Catholic University of Fu Ren in Tai Pei and on October 13 in the Diocese of Tai Dong and on October 25 in the Parish of the Holy Trinity in Tai Pei. In the manifesto prepared for World Mission Day, the Apostolic Letter Porta fidei is mentioned, "then as now, it sends us throughout the world to proclaim his Gospel to all peoples of the earth" (7), inviting all to pray and offer their contribution to the poorest missionary dioceses.
