AFRICA/NIGERIA - Civilians killed in the clash between the military and Boko Haram: confirmation on behalf of the Bishop of Maiduguri
Abuja (Agenzia Fides) - There are also a number of civilians who were killed in a shooting between members of Boko Haram and the Nigerian military that took place yesterday, October 8, in Maiduguri, in the northeastern State of Borno in northeastern Nigeria. This was confirmed to Fides Agency by His Exc. Mgr. Oliver Dashe Doeme Bishop of Maiduguri. "A patrol of soldiers fell into an ambush of a Boko Haram commando.The result was a firefight in which civilians found themselves where the shooting took place.
