VATICAN - The missionary world at the opening of the Council: in South Vietnam children also pray for the Council

Tuesday, 9 October 2012

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - From news released by Fides Agency on 22 September 1962: "The Ecumenical Council does not leave indifferent Catholics in Vietnam, and the Catholic weekly 'Song Dao' has spared no efforts to attract 'the attention of Christians on this great event. At the beginning of October, there will also be two prayer vigils and a program is carefully being studied.
For its part, the Apostolic Delegation, in agreement with the International Catholic Child Bureau, is responsible for spreading the prayer composed by the Holy Father so that all children pray for the Council. Moreover, we have reason to believe that as soon as a book will be published on the Council in the Vietnamese language, based on all papal documents that have appeared in this regard, the book will be profusely illustrated.
The Episcopate of Vietnam, finally, will read the prayer for the Council every time the blessing with the Blessed Sacrament is given and will establish the fasting days to respond to the wishes of the Holy Father." (SL) (Agenzia Fides 09/10/2012)
