ASIA/VIETNAM - Resignation of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Hue and appointment of successor
Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Benedict XVI on August 18, 2012 accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the archdiocese of Hue in Vietnam by His Exc. Mgr. Etienne Nguyen Nhu The, in accordance with canon 401 § 1 of the Code of Canon Law. The Holy Father appointed His Exc. Mgr. François-Xavier Le Van Hong, Titular Bishop of Gadiaufala and Auxiliary of the same archdiocese as Metropolitan Archbishop of Hue. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 24/08/2012)
