Karungu (Agenzia Fides) - Each year, on July 14, the Camillian Religious around the world celebrate their founder St. Camillus. Even this year the different Camillian communities in Kenya have come together and some have renewed their religious vows. In Karungu, Migori District, in the province of Nyanza, the festival this year was held on Sunday July 15 with a celebration at the Medical Ward of St. Camillus Hospital.
In the homily, held by Bishop Rev. Phillip S. Anyolo, in the doiocese of HomaBay, the bishop emphasized the meaning of the Fourth Camillian Vote: to serve the sick at the cost of one’s life. "This special vote focuses its attention to the service: and Christ himself, with his example, teaches us that each of us, even if he/she is a leader or chief, in turn, must be at the service of others," said Msgr. Anyolo. After Mass the children of the Center for Orphans St. Camillus Dala Kiye entertained all the guests with songs, dances and poems. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 27/7/2012)
