Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) - The craze for internet weakens the life of faith and the formation of the Christian spirit: is the alarm raised by the Youth Cultural Exchange Seminar of Catholic University Students in East Asia which took place recently in Tai Pei on the theme "Internet Addiction". According to information gathered by Fides, the annual Catholic Youth University Students of East Asia lasted a week with analysis, sharing and exchange of experiences in the light of Church teaching. About thirty delegates from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong wanted to raise the alarm to their peers in the world, on the fact that the internet now subtracts too much time from today's youth, weakens interpersonal relationship, especially with family members . Obviously the usefulness of technology as happened during the earthquake in Japan on March 11, 2011 must be mentioned, with the network that helped people find relatives and friends who survived; the role of evangelization on-line and other positive uses of the Internet.
