ASIA/INDIA - Resignation of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Visakhapatnam and appointment of successor
Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Benedict XVI on July 3, 2012 accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam (India), by His Exc. Mgr. Mariadas Kagithapu, M.S.F.S., in accordance with canon. 401 § 1 of the Code of Canon Law. The Holy Father appointed Archbishop of Visakhapatnam (India) His Exc. Mgr. Prakash Mallavarapu, transferring him from the diocese of Vijayawada. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 03/07/2012)
