Lubango (Agenzia Fides) - According to a recent study by the Adventist Development & Relief Agency (ADRA) Antena/Huila, NGOs and voluntary associations that offers aid in case of disasters, calamities and wars and at the same time, promotes the development of populations most in need, regardless of ethnicity or religious affiliation, in the city of Lubango, capital of Huila province, in central Angola, and the Metropolitan See of the Catholic Church, the high rate of illiteracy in the community and the precarious administrative organization, are some among the factors that favor the levels of poverty as well as the lack of basic services and low productivity that contribute to illiteracy in rural areas. According to ADRA, communities should be more involved in the Literacy Program and the Government should engage in measures aimed at improving the conditions of the phenomenon and the total eradication in the program against hunger and poverty reduction.
