Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) - To continue to promote maximum cooperation of the parish priests of the Council for the Laity of the Archdiocese of Tai Pei with the laity, for better coordination of evangelization and greater communion in the archdiocese: This is the aim of the annual Seminar of the Council for the Laity, held recently. According to the Catholic Weekly of the Archdiocese of Tai Pei, a hundred members of the Council from 29 parishes of the Archdiocese, took part in the Meeting during which followed the report of the work carried out last year. 38 testimonies on the importance of the Word of God in the formation of the laity, on the need for better pastoral and missionary coordination were praised. Specific issues were discussed such as, "the role of the Council according to the priests"; "the experience of Sundayschool: the laity in the service to the parish." His Exc. Mgr. John Hung, SVD, Archbishop of Tai Pei was present at the meeting and in his speech he stressed the particular importance of priestly vocation, the vocation of permanent deacons and the married lay.
