Rome (Fides Service) - As part of an initiative “Uto Ughi per Roma” , today September 28, this famous violinist will give a concert to a very special audience, little patients at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital in Rome.
Mr Ughi has been giving a cycle of concerts in the capital for the past six years to help youth approach classical music, encourage young talents of international music and also, more in general, to spread love for the culture of music.
At the children’s concert this evening Maestro Ughi, accompanied by the Roman Philharmonic Orchestra, will play Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, explaining to the children as he goes long how notes played by the different instrument represent sounds in nature: for example the flowing waters of a river, the wind in the trees.
A radio link with the Aual Magna of the Pontifical Urban University will enable all the children in all the different hospital departments to enjoy the concert.
“The heritage of music belongs to everyone - Mr Ughi said- it is a universal language which reaches people of all ages everywhere. Because, as Beethoven used to say Ughi adds - the mission of the musician is to bring healing and hope to all who suffer".
The concert will be held this afternoon at 3.30pm at the , Aula Magna at Urban University, Via Urbano VIII, 16.
