Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Benedict XVI on May 25, 2012 accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Archdiocese of Lagos (Nigeria), presented by His Eminence Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okogie in accordance with canon. 401 § 1 of the Code of Canon Law and appointed the new Archbishop of Lagos Alfred Adewale Martins Bishop, transferring him from the seat of Abeokuta.
