AFRICA/GHANA - Resignation of the Archbishop of Kumasi and nomination of successor

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – The Holy Father, Benedict XVI, on May 15 2012, accepted the resignation from the pastoral government of the Archdiocese of Kumasi (Ghana), presented by His Eccellency Msgr. Thomas Kwaku Mensah, in conformity with Canon 401 1 of the Code of Canon Law. The Holy Father has named His Excellency, Msgr. Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye, new Archbishop of Kumasi, transferring him from Obuasi. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 16/5/2012)
