Santiago de Chile (Agenzia Fides) - Violence against children continues to increase in almost all regions of the country, except the Magallanes and Los Ríos. According to a study carried out by NGO Activa, household violence at has increased by 8%, while the murders concerning young minors are 33% more than in 2010-2011. The victims most affected are those in the age group between 5 and 9 and the mothers who are unable to educate their children are those who carry out these horrors. To try to cope with this emergency, the director of the NGO has appealed to the local government so that funds are raised for the protection of minors, in order to improve their living conditions.
