Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on June 3, 2011 appointed rev. Piotr Pytlowany, of the Latin diocesan clergy of Przemysl (Poland).
The new Rector was born on May 7, 1969 and was ordained a priest on May 28, 1994. He obtained his Licentiate in pastoral Theology at the University of Cravovia John Paul II. From 1995 to 2010 he was the Fidei Donum priest in the Archdiocese of Maria Santissima in Astana (Kazakhstan) where he held various pastoral assignments: Pastor of St. Joseph (1995-2000); pastor of St. Abraham in Schuchinsk (2000-2001); Pastor of the Cathedral of Astana (2001-2010).
