AFRICA/MALI-Appointment of the Rector of the Seminary "Saint Augustin" in Bamako

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on April 29, 2011 appointed rev. Amadou Kizito Togo, of the diocesan clergy of Mopti as Rector of the Seminary of the ecclesiastical province of Bamako (Mali).
The new Rector was born in 1967 in Satem-Koporo-pen (Koro). After primary school, he attended the minor Seminary in Togo and then the intermediate Pius XII Seminary in Bamako, he then studied philosophy at the Major Seminary "Saint Augustin" in Bamako and theology at the Major Seminary of Koumi. He was ordained a priest on September 11, 1993. Subsequently, he was Assistant pastor and Pastor in several communities. From 2001 to 2004 he studied History of the Church at the Gregorian University in Rome. From 2004 to 2008 he was Professor at the Major Seminary "Saint Augustin" in Bamako. From 2008 to 2011 he continued his studies for his Doctorate in Rome. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 16/2/2012)
