AFRICA/ANGOLA - Appointment of the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on December 16, 2011 appointed Father Fausto de Carvalho Rosado , of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Claretian), CMF as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Angola and Sao Tome for the years 2011 to 2016.
The new National Director was born on January 3, 1955 in the diocese of Coimbra (Portugal), and was ordained a priest on March 13, 1983. He completed his studies of specialization at the Catholic University of Portugal. Among the positions held after ordination: he was Professor, Promoter of vocations, a military Chaplain, Treasurer and then Superior of the Claretian community of Fatima, Professor and Vicar of the CMF College in Porto and Superior. In the period 1998-2002 he was Superior in Sao Tome, Pastor and Director for the Formation and in 2002 he was appointed parish priest in Luanda (Angola) and in 2008 Secretary of the CMF Delegation of Angola and Sao Tome. Since 2010, he has been Superior of the CMF community and Episcopal Vicar for the pastoral care in the Archdiocese of Luanda. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 09/02/2012)
