AMERICA/BRAZIL - Reflecting with young people on the missionary nature of the Church: Bishops of Brazil call Catholic youth to National Meeting on Youth Mission and Parish Missions

Brasilia (Fides Service) - Young people, local Church leaders and missionaries will come together for a National Meeting on Youth Mission and Parish Missions 8 to 11 October at the Dom Fernando Gomes pastoral centre at Goiânia, to reflect on the “ad intra” and “ad extra” missionary dimension of the Church and to share experiences lived by young people during Parish Missions and Youth Missions promoted by the Bishops’ Commission for Youth Pastoral.
The meeting organised by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Brazil and the Bishops commission for lay-pastoral and youth is for young leaders of youth pastoral and representatives of church movements involved in Youth Missions and Parish Missions in different dioceses.
Besides listening to conferences the participants will share times of prayer, reflection, work groups and entertainment. Topics for reflection will include: “Subjects of mission”, “Resuming mission studying the challenges” and “Missionary Spirituality”. One important aim of the meeting is to sharing experiences lived by young people during Parish Missions and Youth Missions and deepening awareness of missionary spirituality.
