AFRICA/MOZAMBIQUE - After the tropical storms, the situation continues to worsen

Maputo (Agenzia Fides) - More than 100 000 people have been affected by the tropical storms Funso and Dando, that have hit respectively the north and south of Mozambique, according to wusnyo, communicated by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA ). Forty deaths recorded so far. Funso has damaged 64,663 people destroying homes, flooding roads, schools and health centers. Dando has affected 51,670 people. In addition. approximately 94,919 hectares of farmland have been destroyed in the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Sofala and Zambezia. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 31/01/2012)
