Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - The Holy Father Benedict XVI on January 25, 2012 accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Archdiocese of Karachi (Pakistan), by His Exc. Mgr. Evarist Pinto, according to canon 401 § 1 Code of Canon Law. The Holy Father appointed His Exc. Mgr.Joseph Coutts, Bishop of Faisalabad as Archbishop of Karachi (Pakistan). The same Prelate was appointed Apostolic Administrator of the sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the Diocese of Faisalabad. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 26/01/2012)
