Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - The missionary activity of the Blessed John Paul II and the missionary committment of the Servant of God Pauline M. Jaricot, founder of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, are the theme of the missiological session and of the pilgrimage promoted by the Pontifical Missionary Union of Poland to be held on December 3 and 4 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Jasna Gora. According to information Fides received on behalf of don Jacek Gancarek, director of the PMS of the Archdiocese of Czestochowa, the missiological session and prayer Vigil will be attended by priests, men and women religious and laity, led by don Tomasz Atlas, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland. During the missiological session, participants will reflect on various topics: missionary spirituality; life and the missionary activity of the Servant of God Pauline Jaricot; interreligious dialogue and the Church's missionary activity in the light of the writings and John Paul II’s apostolic travels to the African continent. During the pilgrimage don Tomasz Atlas will preside the Mass in the Chapel of Our Lady in Jasna Gora. The Pontifical Missionary Union was approved in Poland in 1924, in Czestochowa.
