ASIA/MYANMAR - Appointment of the Rector of the philosophical Major Seminary "St. Joseph " in the Archdiocese of Mandalay

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Archbishop Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Paul Pepper, of the diocesan clergy of Loikaw as Rector of the philosophical Major Seminary "St. Joseph "the Archdiocese of Mandalay on September 16 2011.
The new Rector was born on January 13, 1963 at Prusa, kayak State, Diocese of Loikaw. He was was ordained a priest on April 10, 1991 at Dougnankha, kayak State. He entered the Minor Seminary "St. Theresa " of Taunggyi in 1974 and in 1980 he went to the Major Seminary "St. Joseph "of Yangon. He later deepened his studies in Italy (1996-2000) and the Philippines (2003-2008). He obtained a license in Philosophy. He has held the following positions: vice pastort in the diocese of Loikaw (1991-93); Rector of the Minor Seminary of Loikaw (1993-1996); and Parish priest in the diocese of Loikaw semopre (2000-2010); since 2010 he was a Professor resident in Pyin Oo Lwin.
