Montevideo (Agenzia Fides) - In 2012, Caritas Uruguay celebrates 50 years of its foundation in the country and wants to remember the event carrying out a project of social research, ie collecting the history of the country’s solidarity over the past half century. For this reason it launches an appeal to young students and/or new graduates in social sciences to participate as volunteers in the research of the documentation on the supportive action of the Catholic Church in the country during the last 50 years. In addition to collaborating with the essential task of Caritas and to encourage solidarity in the country, Caritas offers therefore the opportunity to engage in a job that will have a national and international diffusion. In the note sent to Fides, one can read that the project covers all 4 areas of action of Caritas: Pastoral Penitentiary, Pastoral Assistance to drug addicts, the construction of peaceful coexistence, participation in public policy assistance to the needy.
